As my (modest) online presence continues to grow (including my recent ambassadorship with Tether Tools), opportunities to share my knowledge and passion of photography have begun to present themselves. Earlier in the year, I was interviewed by Rangefinder Magazine writer Greg Scoblete about the benefits of tethering and my overall workflow (read here). Even though Greg covers four key benefits of utilizing a tethered workflow, the truth is that there are countless others. Like most (good) things in life, you won’t know until you try!
As evident by the BTS slideshow above, I thoroughly use a tethered workflow whenever I can - be it in the studio or on-location (with the exception of shooting motorsports trackside). Ever since I first got my hands on a Tether Tools TetherPro cable for my 5Dmk2 to tether into Adobe Lightroom back in the day, I was hooked. Shooting any project on set became more efficient, creative teams and clients alike loved the real-time view on the laptop screen, and the dreaded culling process was cut down by half the time. Fast forward nearly a decade and not much has changed (other than gear/software) with my on-set workflow, all thanks to a safety-orange cable that changed the digital photography world.
Be sure to check out the article Rangefinder Magazine: Four Reasons to Shoot Tethered, it’s a good quick read! A big thanks to Greg and the team at Rangefinder Magazine for the opportunity.
